Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has heaped praise on Jude Bellingham, calling him the best player in the world after his stellar performance against Sevilla on Friday.

The 20-year-old England international, who joined Real from Borussia Dortmund for €103 million in the summer, scored two goals in the 3-1 victory that kept Real at the top of La Liga.

Ancelotti said he was amazed by Bellingham's skills, versatility and maturity on the pitch.

"Bellingham is a fantastic player, a complete midfielder who can play in any position," Ancelotti told reporters after the game. "He has quality, intensity, personality and charisma. He is the best player in the world right now, without a doubt."

Bellingham opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, and doubled his tally in the 71st minute with a header from a corner. He also helped Real control the midfield and create chances for his teammates.

Bellingham has been in sensational form this season, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in 18 La Liga games. He has also impressed in the Champions League, where he scored a hat-trick against Inter Milan in the group stage.

Bellingham's rise to stardom has been remarkable, as he only made his senior debut for Dortmund in 2020, after moving from Birmingham City for €25 million. He quickly established himself as a key player for the German club, and earned his first England cap in November 2020.

Bellingham's transfer to Real was one of the biggest deals of the summer, and he has justified his price tag with his performances. He has formed a formidable partnership with Luka Modric and Casemiro in the midfield, and has earned the admiration of his coach and fans.

Ancelotti said he was happy to have Bellingham in his squad, and hoped he would continue to improve and help Real achieve their goals.

"Bellingham is a stupendous player, and I'm lucky to have him," Ancelotti said. "He's still young, but he has a lot of experience and confidence. He's always looking to improve and learn. He's a joy to watch and coach."
