Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia could make their debuts against Brighton on Sunday, according to Mauricio Pochettino.
The Chelsea boss has described both players as 'close' to returns from injury. Nkunku, who was signed for £52 million, has yet to make his competitive Chelsea debut after suffering a serious knee injury during pre-season which required surgery. Fellow summer arrival Lavia, bought from Southampton for £53m, has also yet to play having suffered an ankle problem. Both players have returned to training and Pochettino didn't rule out some involvement at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. 'We need to assess tomorrow [Saturday] and then decide. They are close, but we need tomorrow to make a decision,' Pochettino said ¹.
